A Word From The President |

Well here we are in 2003. I hope you all had a great holiday season. This should be a good year for the Capital District Corvair Club, Inc. as we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary. Also, it should be a good year for the Eastern Division of the Corvair Society of America, as they will have this year's convention at Carlisle, PA. While we are talking about Carlisle, I hope we are all thinking about trying to attend the Convention. Before I start carrying on about this and that, I want to take this opportunity to thank Walt Newell for his great job as president for the last two years. Walt did a fabulous job of getting us incorporated and keeping our group intact. Walt will be staying on as Vice President, to try and keep me out of trouble. I also need to commend Kris Tullock for all the work she has done as 'Secretary for all this time. Kris seemed to be the heart of our club forever. Now it's time to introduce Peter Callesano as the club's new Secretary. Peter jumped up and volunteered to help out and give Kris a much needed break. My thanks to Peter for showing the spirit that makes a club work. (Peter I'm sure that Kris also thanks you.) The winter is a long and tiring thing to a car guy with no garage. My cars are both stored and I am going crazy waiting to get them out and work on them and use them. This time of year all I can do is start signing up for car shows. I have made my reservations for the convention, and signed up for a couple of car shows and only one month of this year has passed. Some days all I can do is look out the window and day dream about warm days and riding around in a Corvair. As some of you know, most years I go to the Syracuse Nationals with my coupe. But this year I won't be able to go, due the conflict in time with the CORSA Convention, As long as I'm talking about the convention, hope that all of us are thinking about making it there. This is the closest location since Lake Placid NY. Thats all I have to say this month. Lets all hope for an early spring, so we can get the cars and cruise around, with the sun shining... OOPS here I go again. Till next month, KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP.

Well, hello everyone, and happy Easter. At least that is when I am starting to write this. I must admit it is a little difficult getting back into the groove of the newsletter. I guess I was a little burned out in doing this. January and into February was a difficult time for me. Had a little extra on my plate and it was very easy for me to let the newsletter slip. Once I missed February, and realized that the world didn't end then, March was no problem. April was coming up fast and I decided to crack down and start getting down to business. Well it was the 13th when I started my taxes (an all time record for lateness for me) and I thought I blew April. But then I realized it was Easter weekend and I had a reprieve (so I thought). Oops, I guess I missed that deadline, so here I am, struggling to get something worthwhile to put into print. ,Remember the operative word here is struggling. It was really fun taking some time off, whether I'm refreshed or not time will tell (although I do not feel too refreshed). I guess I'm not as refreshed as I thought I was but to push myself along I am trying to put out SOMETHING before the next meeting. Do not know if I made it but hopefully I did. For those of you who may know Kris and Dick's son was in a terrible motorcycle accident in March. Please keep them in your prayers as he travels the long road to recovery. I guess the next meeting is under the control of Bob Addis, I suggest contacting him for the agenda. My sincere apologies for not being here...I can feel it coming back however. |
