Dec. 2009

Dear Members, Friends and Family

Thanks to all who attended our club's November meeting at The Kobe Buffet. It sure gave our stomachs a bit of a workout before the Thanksgiving feast. Speaking of feasts, Sunday December 13 is our CDCC Christmas party. Please let Kris Tullock know if you will be attending and what food/drink/dessert you plan on bringing to share. Kris can be reached by her e-mail, Both Kris and Dick work very hard each year at organizing this special event and they deserve our appreciation , as does the Rexford Fire House for allowing us the use of the festively directed hall.

I personally appreciate all that each member does during the year to make our club unique and special. It is election time for club officers. If you would like to run for an office, please let Steve, Walt or me know so we might put your name on the ballot. We have the vote for officers at each Christmas party for the next year's term. I will be voting by proxy this year as I will not be able to stay at the party more than a few minutes. Carol and I have a prior commitment.(Trans Siberian Orchestra concert).

This year's traditional member gift exchange has been amended to a more socially conscious way of showing our generosity. Sherri and Kris have suggested some worthy charities which could really use some help during this time of year. Each member/family is requested to bring a cash amount in a sealed envelope equal to what a small gift might have cost. We will have a container available for each chosen charity. We will total the amounts collected and send the donations from our club members with Seasons Greetings.

Well this is my last message for 2009. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to all.

My most sincere regards and thanks to all for electing me to be the club's proud President for the last few years. It has been an honor and fun.and I would certainly do it again!.
