Well here we are in 2003. I hope you all had a great holiday season. This should be a good year for the Capital District Corvair Club, Inc. as we will be celebrating our 15th anniversary. Also, it should be a good year for the Eastern Division of the Corvair Society of America, as they will have this year’s convention at Carlisle, PA. While we are talking about Carlisle, I hope we are all thinking about trying to attend the Convention. Before I start carrying on about this and that, I want to take this opportunity to thank Walt Newell for his great job as President for the last two years. Walt did a fabulous job of getting us incorporated and keeping our group intact. Walt will be staying on as Vice President, to try and keep me out of trouble. I also need to commend Kris Tullock for all the work she has done as Secretary for all this time. Kris seemed to be the hart of our club forever. Now it’s time to introduce Peter Callesano as the club’s new Secretary. Peter jumped up and volunteered to help out and give Kris a much needed break. My thanks to Peter for showing the spirit that makes a club work. (Peter I’m sure that Kris also thanks you.) The winter is a long and tiring thing to a car guy with no garage. My cars are both stored and I am going crazy waiting to get them out and work on them and use them. This time of year all I can do is start signing up for car shows. I have made my reservations for the convention, and signed up for a couple of car shows and only one month of this year has passed. Some days all I can do is look out the window and day dream about warm days and riding around in a corvair. As some of you know, most years I go to the Syracuse Nationals with my coupe. But this year I won’t be able to go, due the conflict in time with the CORSA Convention. As long as I’m talking about the convention, hope that all of us are thinking about making it there. This is the closest location since Lake Placid NY. That all I have to say this month. Lets all hope for an early spring, so we can get the cars and cruse around, with the sun shining.....OOPS here I go again. |
