That soggy old month of June is finally over. It seems like all we had for May and June was rain. Let’s all hope that July turns out to be better.

The June Meeting at PJ’s turned out to be good. The rain held off until later in the evening leaving enough time for all to enjoy their Bar-B-Q and have time to visit with one another. We parked our Corvairs in front of the Fifties House. In the talks we decided not to have a meeting in July and to have our Summer Picnic and meeting at Thatcher Park on Sunday, August, 20th.

The Capital District Corvair Club showed well in the month of June, with the Tullock’s taking first place in the Corvair class at Hildene, and Cindy Bassett taking first place at the Capital District Chevrolet Club’s show in the 1965 – 69 class.

It seems that the weather has been a factor at all the car shows so far this year. I think the very large turn-out at Guptil’s was due to the fact that it may have been the best evening of the month, and everyone wanted to get their car out. They had well over 1000 cars there.

Well let’s start looking ahead at July. There will still be a lot of chances to get out and have fun with that Corvair. And don’t forget that this is the month for the CORSA Convention in Buffalo. Everyone who is going to the Convention and who will also be attending the banquet, please call me after you arrive but before Friday, so Cindy can get us all at the same table. Looking ahead to the August picnic. The picnic is a pot-luck style affair. Cindy and I will be bringing hotdogs, hamburgers and rolls, as well as charcoal, some paper plates, cups, and napkins. That leaves a lot of room for any dish you would like to bring. When you know that you are coming and what you will be bringing, contact Cindy Bassett and let her know. She will try to keep things sorted out and let you know if we are getting too much of any one thing.
