A Word From The President

Well, May is here and summer is close at hand. The first car show (Rhinebeck) has come and gone, and the Corvairs made a good showing. There were 14 Ccorvairs with 4 from our club. By the way, congratulations Neil on your third place, hope you got back in time to pick up your trophy. The threatening clouds kept the show car count down, but the Corvair owners kept their end up and showed well.

The next show, for me, will be Saratoga on the 16th. This is where we will have this month’s meeting. Starting June 1st and the every other Tuesday throughout the summer there will be a cruise-in at Hemmings Motor News’ Sonoco station in Bennington, VT. Hope to make it a couple of times this year. Maybe I will see you there. Speaking of cruise-ins, this year Guptills will have 4, starting June 14th, and every second Monday for the next three months. Maybe I will see you there. I’ll miss Guptills in June, as I will be traveling to the CORSA Convention that day. There will be lots of opportunities to get the Ccorvairs out and show them off.

As we get our cars out for a new season, let’s not forget safety. Check your brakes and lights; don’t forget to check your tire pressure. We all are in a hurry to get on the road, but we need to keep a watch on the old cars so we will be sure to make it home.

Well that’s it from here. Remember to keep the shiny side up.

Lets have a round of applause for Bruce Carlton. Bruce went to the "Pocono Time Trials". He ran the fastest time of "all" Corvairs , and second fastest of "all" cars. He improved from last year. Nice job Bruce.

June 4-5       Recall, Central NY Corvair Club
