November is here, my Corvairs are both put up for a long winter’s sleep, In a few days my motorcycle will be put up also, and all I will have left is a bunch of pictures and memories to get me through the winter. So goes the life of a car guy. As the days get shorter and the nights get colder I have to sit and wait for the next big car show season, which is six months away. Six months is a long time when you look at it from here, but I’m sure it will not be as bad as it looks right now. With all the pictures and a lot of planning the time should pass fast and soon it will be time for Rhinebeck and the start of a new car show year. Now that I got the whining behind me, how about that October Fall trip? Walt set up a great trip, and for the first time in a while the weather cooperated and we all had a great time. Walt and Jean had planned a nice trip up along the west shore of Lake George and it went about perfect. We had one small oops between Schroon Lake and Brant Lake, but I’m sure Walt did that just to keep us on our toes. The restaurant was great the food was good and the company was the best. At the meeting we agreed to have this month’s meeting at Fresno’s, in Troy, 2PM Sunday November 12th. Also at the meeting Dick and Kris Tulluck told us that we are welcome to use the Rexford Fire Hall again this year for our Christmas party. Kris will let us know what our date will be, so please keep some time open for the best party of this year’s Christmas season. Our Christmas party will be the pot-luck type, with everyone bringing a dish to share. We will again have a grab-bag with gifts for women brought by women and the men will bring a gift for men. Try and keep the cost of gifts in the $10 to $15 range. With the Fall drive around and meeting being a week earlier, the week of Staatsburg was open and the weather was good, so Cindy and I drove down. There was a place set aside for the Capital District Corvair Club, but we had the only car there. Maybe next year we can get more cars down for the day. That’s it from here. I guess I will go over and sit on the sofa and look at some pictures from this summer. Remember to “KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP”.
