A Word From The President

Another month down and the summer has come to a close. This has been a wet summer. I can’t think of one car show or happening that has not been affected one way or the other by the weather. With all that has happened you would think I would be glad to see this summer come to an end. But that’s not so. I would like to see it last a couple of more months. Somehow, I feel that I missed something.

Don’t let the end of summer make you think it’s time to put that Corvair away. We will still have many nice days before the snow gets here.

For October the Capital District Corvair Club will be taking a fall tour in the Lake George – Brant Lake area. Walt Newell is putting a trip together for Sunday the 8th. This will be our first fall tour in quite a few years. For the past few years we have been going to Mills Mansion and we thought it would be time to do something different. By doing our tour on the 8th, anyone who would like to go to Mills Mansion can be free to do it. Walt has laid out a tour that will end in Brant Lake at a small restaurant for dinner and a meeting. Look for the trip details elsewhere in this month’s newsletter.

With officer elections coming up in December, I would like to ask all of you to think about serving in the club. This will be my last year as president and we really need someone to stand up and take the reins. I hope that each member gives it some thought, and remember you don’t need to be male to be president, or any other officer.

Well that’s it from here. Remember to “KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP”.

Harold
