On July 22 - 24, the Yenko 40th anniversary reunion was held in Twinsburg, Ohio.  On Sunday, there was a car show that featured many Yenko Stingers, Yenko Camaros, Yenko Chevelles and some vintage Yenko Corvettes.  It was also open to all Corvairs.  A banquet was held in the evening that featured Warren Dernoshek, Mark Gillespie, George Furda, and Donna Mae Mimms, who all worked at Don Yenko Chevrolet.  Frank Parker and Tony DeLorenzo also spoke about their racing days.  Monday was track day at Nelson Ledges Race Track.  Only the Corvairs raced (along with a late model Camaro) on this day.  WMCC's own Dan Konkle and Ryan Counterman participated in both the car show and the time trials.  Unfortunately, Dan suffered a problem with a slipped crank gear after only running a handful of laps.  Ryan also had his problems as he fried first and second gears.  The day was not lost as Ryan was able to invent a new way to mount a video camera in his car.
