Iowa Corvair Enthusiasts
The Iowa Corvair Enthusiasts (ICE) is a state
wide car club for Corvair owners and enthusiasts living in the state of Iowa and
surrounding areas. It is dedicated to the promotion, preservation and enjoyable
uses of the Corvair Automobile.
The Iowa Corvair Enthusiasts, Inc., a non-profit
organization, is a chartered Chapter (#526) of the Corvair Society of America (CORSA)
PO Box 607, Lemont, IL 60349-0607. ICE dues are $15 annually, and are
payable in January of each year for single and two person memberships.
Membership entitles you to a subscription to our (almost) monthly newsletter,
'The Iowa Corvair Connection', as well as many other membership benefits. CORSA
dues are $38 annually and entitle members to receive the award winning 'CORSA
Communique' magazine monthly. ICE members are strongly encouraged, but are not
required to be a member of CORSA.
Active ICE members enjoy the following benefits:

to: The Winter Banquet, Spring Tour, Fall Tour, Fire & Ice Time Trials,
ICE Picnic, Car Shows, plus much, much more.

Upcoming Events
- Freedom Festival Car Show at Duffy's in Cedar Rapids, IA, Saturday,
27 June 2009, 10am-2pm. Registration begins at 9am. Music, food, door
prizes, trophies awarded at 2pm. ICE needs to support this since Duffy's
has been good to us...let's go as a group. Contact Eric Prosise at eprosise@hotmail.com
to let him know if you're coming so we can have Duffy's set aside an area
for our club.
- Convention Budget Meeting, Sunday,
28 June 2009 in DeWitt, IA at Eric
Prosise's residence, 124 6th Ave. Dewitt. 2pm. All are invited to
participate in this discussion/budget determination session. Bring your
lawn chairs and ideas. Note date change from Saturday, 27 June
2009 due to participation by ICE in Duffy's Car Show on Saturday, 27
June.
- ICE Meeting, 5 July 2009 at John Miller and Teresa Rolling's
house in Central Iowa. The event will begin at 1pm. John and Teresa will
be having a cookout, potluck style. They will provide the burgers, dogs
and drinks. Please bring a side, salad or dessert to pass. The Goodguys
Heartland Nationals show is at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in DesMoines 3-5
July. There are usually some Corvairs at the show, so why not attend on
Saturday before going to John and Teresa's. John and Teresa will have some
interesting videos of past Corvair events, some tech tips, etc. It looks
to be a lot of fun. John and Teresa's address is 52860 300th St. in
Kelley, IA. See the Special edition of the Connection for more
details.
- Fire & ICE Autocross X and ICE Picnic, 29, 30
August 2009 in Marshalltown, IA at the IA Int'l Speedway Go Kart Track.
The Marshalltown track was reopened for special events this year, so we have
a track date of 29 August on this awesome 6/10 mile go kart track. This will
be the 10th year anniversary of this fun, laid back event. Come see if you
can beat the previous track record. Sheets with all of your previous track
times will be available. On Sunday, ICE will have a catered picnic at
Riverview Park at the Log Cabin shelter. Come join us for this weekend of
fun. Registration and Schedule of Events information are available below. We
are also working on shirts for this 10th Anniversary Fire & ICE Autocross.
Shirts will be available only on a pre-order basis. See Special Order
Form for Fire & ICE Shirts.
- Corvair Society of America International
Convention, 21-25 June 2010. ICE will be hosting the International
Convention in Cedar Rapids, IA. We will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary
of the Corvair. Details to be announced.

New Reason to Own a Corvair ...
Eric Prosise attended the Dwyer & Michaels Car Show in
Davenport on Saturday, 20 June. Eric invited his dad to go along and dad's glad
he did. Dad just wishes he'd driven the dune buggy to the show.
I've heard that babies & puppies attracted young
ladies, but never knew that Greenbriars had that same effect.

FALL TOUR DVD Teresa
Rolling has produced a wonderful DVD of the 2008 ICE Fall Tour. Copies of the
DVD are available from Teresa for $10. This is a very professionally produced
DVD picture tour of the ICE Fall Tour. Teresa is graciously donating the
proceeds of the first 5 that she sells to I.C.E. I already have my
