Karl’s Corvair Corner
July 2005

My goodness!  June flew by!!  Here it is July 4, 2005; I’ve suddenly realized while looking skyward and seeing rockets, etc., burst in the air that I have forgotten to post a news column.  Further, Gini has not called me to instill rapid correspondence on the Club’s behalf.  I have found our the reason!  Her computer is on the fritz, and she is unable to send or receive e-mail.  Alas!  No newsletter this month.

I am posting this note to the internet/club news to see if we can salvage some information for the membership.  As we all know, the national convention is but a few weeks away.  Portland – here comes the Cozad’s.  (Plus many other members as well.)  Our sightseeing plans involve Mt. Hood; the Spruce Goose in McMinnville; Seattle for visits to relatives and friends; Whidbey Island Naval Air Station; Mt.s Rainier and Baker; Victoria, B.C.; Yellowstone National Park; Custer’s Last Stand Battlefield; and, finally, Mt. Rushmore.  Then back home and back to work to get some rest!  Everyone that is traveling please be careful and well rested.

Well, following the social at the Bybee’s in early April we met at the Koch’s new “plantation” in mid-June after a visit to the Peterson auto museum on Saturday afternoon of the 18th.  Hopefully, the pictures that I took are attached to this “newsletter”; as well as those that I took at the Bybee social in early April.  We, the Club, truly thank our hosts for the hospitality of their homes and for putting these very nice socials together!!  Kevin and Ada thank you for the “annual” event that you have put together for the past several years.

I also hope that I have a tech note attached hereto.  Again, sorry for the “internet” postings, but hope that it is better than nothing.  We should be back on regular schedule next month.  See you at the July meeting.  Mike Dawson will be chairing the August meeting, as I will be on vacation.  I hope that Gini has received her new computer by then, or I may post again to the HACOA site.  Corvairingly yours, Karl.
