March 2009 - Heart of Texas Corvair Roundup, New Braunfels. (Overnighter) The March activity will be to participate in the annual Heart of Texas Reunion, March 20-22. This year the event is being hosted by the Corvair Houston club. You can begin to plan your trip to the T-Bar Resort and Convention Center in New Braunfels by making your reservations today! The rate for rooms for this event are $109. a night plus tax. You can make your reservations by contacting the hotel at 1-800-292-5469. April 18th 2009 - "April in Paris" Road trip to Paris, TX. For those using I-30, those coming from the west, and any other direction, we will meet in Greenville at Chili’s – 7099 I-30 at 10:30 a.m. and caravan up Tx Hwy 24/224 thru Commerce and north to TX Hwy 19 into Paris. Bob Skinner will be waiting for us at the cemetery (as Becky said at the April meeting) and lead us to downtown Paris . We will have lunch at Jaxx Gourmet Burgers on the square at 12:30 p.m. From here we will go the the Eiffel Tower, and then to Bob and Becky’s home for dessert. There are numerous museums and other places of interest to visit while in Paris. For those who are interested, Choctaw Casino is just 17 miles away ….across the Red River . You may want to gather a group from your area and caravan to Greenville. July 4th 2009 - NTCA Annual Picnic, Saturday, July 4th at Chris Lampe's
The picnic is a go rain or shine, I have a
large carport and several pop up shelters,
so rain will not be an issue.
I have a large salt water swimming pool so
bring your suits, towels and lawn chairs.
I will be smoking Brisket and chicken,
also hot dogs,
potato salad, baked beans, and cole
slaw
will be served,
the club will also furnish a cake. Please come hungry. BYOB,
the club will provide soft drinks.
I live on a Cul-de-sac so parking in front of my house is some what limited, but I will talk to the neighbors and ask that they not park on the street the afternoon of the Picnic. It should be fine to double, triple or even quadruple park in front of my house, it should make for a great group photo. I would ask that water pumpers not park in the Cul-de-sac but instead park on Wayne Way. Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone July 4th,
