Shown below are photos from the NECC Time Trials at Portland International Raceway, held in 2005. Use the links on the left hand side of this page to explore our photo gallery.  Click on any photo to see a larger image.   The photos on this page were provided by Bob Slusher and were shot by Bob, Jim Giddings and Erin Brunton. 

 

They include Bob Slusher's own #66 Corvair, which was race-prepared in 1966 by Baldwin Chevrolet of Baldwin-Motion fame. 

 

Also shown is the famous 1960 Bill Thomas / Doug Roe racing Corvair #361, featured in Hot Rod, Motor Trend and other car magazines back in the 1960s.  The Bill Thomas / Doug Roe car was lovingly restored by Warren Levesque.  Portland 2005 was its post-restoration debut run.

 

 

The Northeast Corvair Council ("NECC") conducts high-speed track events for sports car enthusiasts.  Our history goes back to 1974, when we conducted time trials for Corvairs at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.  But you don't need a Corvair to drive in our events.  Several years ago, we opened up our track events to all other makes of cars.  Our starting grid often includes Mazdas, Nissans, Porsches, Mustangs, Evos, Mini Coopers and more.
