What kind of car can I bring to
an NECC track event? Can I bring a car that is not a Corvair? At most of our
events, the answer is yes!
Over the years, NECC has developed a solid reputation for running
well-organized track events. And because of this, a number of drivers who
don't own Corvairs run with us, year after year.
We've been
accepting non-Corvair entries at most of our track events for a long time.
Our starting grid often includes Mazdas, Nissans, Porsches, Mustangs, Evos,
Mini Coopers and more.
At Lime Rock and Pocono,
most of the entries have been non-Corvairs for several years. For example, here's a list of
non-Corvairs from our 2006 time trials at Pocono:
|
2000 BMW M3 |
|
2005 Corvette |

2001 Mustang GT |

All drivers are treated equally
with respect to safety, tech inspection, and track time. We award a
trophy to the fastest non-Corvair entrant. All entrants' lap times are
recorded at our high speed events.
Naturally, all entrants must pass our safety and tech inspection rules. NECC
has specific driver and vehicle requirement rules that apply to all entrants,
no matter what kind of car they drive.
