Corvair 50th Birthday Celebration at Cape May!

The Corvair was introduced for sale to the public in Chevrolet dealers all across America on Friday, October 2, 1959.  That's 50 years ago, and the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic CORSA Chapters sponsored a three-day birthday party for the Corvair in Cape May.  Here are some photos!  Go ahead and CLICK on them to see the full-size pictures!

A lovely young model helps Bob Marlow reenact the introduction of the 1960 Corvair!

Pete "Caveman" Koehler assists in the unveiling.

Oooh! Gasoline heater and a full-size spare tire!

The public is astonished to see... no engine under the hood!

Chevrolet made this plexiglass hood available for dealers to wow potential customers.
