1961 Rampside Toro Conversion

According to Richard, his red truck is often mistaken for the famous wheel standing Dodge A-100 pickup, the "Little Red Wagon" from the 60's. 1961 Rampside We have seen the mid-engine FC conversions, but his one is a "Toro" style using a 1977 Cadillac front wheel drive set up in the rear Rear Engine but with a small block Chevy engine. He has owned the truck since 1999 and has done most of the work himself. Richard has put over 10,000 miles on it. All of the body seams are filled in and a set of aluminum Moon disc's set off the look. The paint is a 1988 Corvette color. The truck has turned a time of 8.29 at 90 MPH on an 1/8 mile strip.

The interior is stock with a large tach on the dash. Interior

The engine is a 350 cubic inch Chevy  with a Comp cam sporting a B&M 145 blower with a Holley 750 four barrel carb Engine and a 100 HP shot of nitrous oxide. The exhaust system has electrically operated cut outs on the headers.

The transmission is a Cadillac T425 (Turbo 400) Motor Transaxle running through a 3:08 ring and pinion gear.

Brakes are four wheel discs. Brakes

The cooling system is an aluminum cross flow radiator with an engine driven shrouded fan. A large aluminum sheet duct helps direct cooling air to the radiator. Engine Cover Richard says cooling is still a problem. The system also has the added load of air conditioning.

The wheels wear BFG rubber in a 195-65-14" size up front and 215-65-15" in the rear with spun aluminum wheel covers.
