1966 Corsa Coupe Crown Conversion
Al bought his Corvair from a CORSA Ontario member in
1987. It was his daily driver, it used to be black with Camaro 15" rally
spokes.
The buyer, Bill Barkwell, did some much needed work
on the car, including the addition of front disc brakes. After several
years of ownership, Bill decided in 1994 to sell the V8 Vair. As luck
would have it, Al was selling his Corvette. One thing led to another and
the V8 Vair ended up happily, back in Al's garage.
Al swapped out the wheels for some big 16" Vette
wheels
In 1996 the car was painted 88 Camaro IROC blue.
The engine is a 327 C.I. made from a 1969 350 block
by adding the 327 crank and rods, with double hump heads.
Suspension is Crown springs, Crown sway bars with a
four speed and a 4 spider posi differential and a 3:27 gear set. The
brakes are stock drums but front disc brakes are still on the list. The interior has a set of 1995 Pontiac Sunfire seats and a nice tele
wood steering wheel.
