1966 Monza Crown Conversion

Ray's Corv-8 is a serious looking car.  1966 MonzaThe body is flat black which as we know is always fast. Even the license plate is black! The bumpers front and rear have been removed. There is an aluminum chin spoiler up front Front View and the integral rear spoiler on the Yenko fiberglass rear lid. The front lid is also fiberglass, all held down with hood pins. Fiberglass Lid The front glass has retainer's ala NASCAR and the rear glass Rear Glass is a removable slotted Lexan unit.

The interior is all business with a full padded roll cage Interior including some beefy door bars and a set of Sparco  road racer style bucket seats Seats, Harness with RCI harnesses. The dash is again NASCAR style Dash with fabricated flat panels replacing the stock dash and loaded with all the necessary gauges including a large rev counter and warning lights. The steering wheel is a race style removable with a quick release hub. A firewall is located behind the seats with a clear Lexan panel to isolate the motor from the occupants.

The engine is a Chevy small block 350 with a four-barrel actuated with the popular Morse Red Jacket style throttle cable. Chevy Small Block Engine The headers are heat coated Crown type exhausting through a set of Borla stainless mufflers and big polished tips. Mufflers An MSD ignition fires the plugs. The motor has a race inspired crankcase vent system with hoses leading from the polished aluminum valve covers to a vented central catch tank at the rear.

A steel safety bell housing Bell Housing connects the transaxle and four speed transmission to the motor. The differential is held in place by the "California" style girdle bracket. Differential

Cooling is handled by a front mounted aluminum cross flow radiator and large electric fans in the "puller" configuration. cooling system Air comes in under the front bumper through a cut out and is ducted through the radiator, exiting through slots cut in the inner wheel wells. A large fuel cell and fuel filters also occupy the front compartment along with the master cylinders for the brakes and clutch.

Wheels are slotted steel lites with a set of Goodyear NASCAR street tires to add to the race theme.
