1966 Corsa Convertible Crown Conversion

 

In 1980 Hector bought his brother's 1966 Corvair and he has owned it ever since. Today, the V8 Corvair sticks close to a streetable performance theme. 1966 Corsa . The tangerine paint shows up well here.

Hector accomplished this by installing a stock 1974 350 C.I. small block Engine with a set of Crown headers to maximize the performance of the 350. A Holley open plenum intake manifold topped with a 650 CFM  Holley carburetor gets Hector an average of 18 mpg. He has upgraded the suspension Suspension with Crown heavy duty four-spider gears, posi unit with a 3:08 ring and pinion and Crown springs and sway bars Rear View and metallic brake linings.

Chevy 8" wide Rally wheels with Custom offset carry BFG Comp TA's 245-50-15 on the rear and           225-50-15 on 7" rims on the front. Front Wheels.

The cooling system is a front mounted 69 T-bird radiator laid forward at a 45 degree angle with 1 1/2 " copper water pipes back to the engine.  Cooling.

Hector has added a six-point roll bar cage which helps to stiffen the rag tops unit body.Roll Bar    He has been successful in many autocross and show car events.
