1965 Monza Crown Conversion

Lance's Torch Red car is or Was a 1965 Coupe. It now resembles a cross between a Ferrari and a Pro Stock drag car with the serious muscle to back it up.1965 MonzaAll of the body modifications are real steel, no plastic. The Testarossa side intakes are functional, ducting air to the engine compartment along with the above the roof bug catcher scoop for the 6 % overdriven, 671 Jimmy blowerBlower sucking through two Carter 625 CFM carbs on the 350 Chevy motor. It is needless to say that the motor has been seriously worked over with all the go-fast goodies to match the look of the car.

The drive train Drive Train is an Oldsmobile 425 Turbo Hydramatic with a TCI 2100 RPM stall speed converter and modified to shift harder, depending on how far your foot is into the carpet!

The drive adaptor Drive Train Adaptor is made from a 10" steel pipe and a 1/4" plate. After all the welding was done, it was taken to a machine shop where it was trued and squared.

 Special axle shafts mate with the Corvair U-joint yokes. U Joint Yokes

Rear suspension is modified torque arms with upper and lower strut rods with polyurethane bushings and disc brakes. Disc Brakes Note the offset lower shock mount. The front suspension has modified autocross springs with disc brakes and quick ratio steering arms.

Wheels are Shelby Americans, 14" X 7" front and 14" X 9" rear with knock offs. Tires are BFG Euro T/A's 185-60-14 at the front and 245-50-14 on the rear.

Cooling is handled by a GM cross flow radiator Cooling System modified in a double pass up front with two electric fans.

The interior sports a pair of Corbeau seats with multi point harness, a roll bar, GT four spoke wheel and Auto Meter gauges. Gauges The console has a selection of Hurst Lightning Rod levers to choose from and the upper half of the rear firewall is Lexan. A fire extinguisher resides under the dash along with a killer stereo.

Like the license plate says, Rear View Altered--meaning not only the car but your state of mind in this machine.
