1965 Monza Crown Conversion

Jim has entered his car  1965 Monza in shows around the local area and the bright PPG candy apple red paint is the perfect eye catcher. It also has garnered awards such as this one Award from the 2003 Detroit Autorama. When he shows the car his placard reads, Loud, Fast and Hot as Hell ! He named his car "SLAM IN" as the license plate reads.Rear View

For the interior, Jim installed a set of JAZ racing seats, custom steering, Auto meter gauges Auto Meter Gauges and a chrome fire extinguisher. Also note the matching red rugs. He also installed a roll bar to complete the race car look. Jim has a special hand made shift lever handle Special Shift Lever that you can really "pull the trigger" on!

In the engine bay we have the nostalgic 327 C.I. Chevy small block Engine from a 1967 Vette. The engine sports a set of double hump heads, aluminum intake with the popular Edelbrock four barrel carburetor and a set of Crown equal length headers with a Mr. Gasket E-Vac system to take care of engine ventilation. This combination puts out 350 H. P. The sound is provided by 3" Flowmasters. The engine cover Engine Cover is a custom made stainless steel unit with a Plexiglas top cover to show off the power plant. Notice the small lights for night time viewing.

The transmission is a four speed turning the 3:27 rear end gears with four spider setup.

The undercarriage is coated in gloss black POR-15 Under Carriage and the suspension pieces are gloss silver POR-15.

The cooling system is the standard Crown arrangement with a four core aluminum radiator up front  Aluminum Radiator in the reclined position and ducted in front. Cut outs in the wheel house area are used for out flow of hot air.

All of this rides on a set of custom chrome wheels with knock off spinners and some nice white letter 225-60-15 BFG T/A's on the rear Rear Wheels  while the front  Front Wheels has 215-60-14 BFG T/A's.
