1961 Monza 98hp 4 spd. coupe

Very nice Monza, I'm second owner. 66,100 actual miles. Real leather interior, custom upholstered by original owner in early '80s. He died in the late '80s, I bought the car from his daughter in Morganton, N.C. in 2019. Car had been in the basement of his home since he died, and a few months prior to my purchase, the daughter and her husband had the car taken to a trusted mechanic, where several thousand dollars in new parts were installed, entire fuel system, entire brake system, suspension componets, bearings all around, u-joints, 5 new tires, exhaust system, carb rebuild, complete tune-up. Now, I have done a good deal of work over the past couple of weeks, major oil leak fixed, fresh oil and filter, adjusted floats and set carbs to specs, set dwell and timing, painted tin, brackets and generator, replaced top cover with LM cover with big bearing and mag fan, cleaned out a huge amount of mice nests covering cylinders, heads, and oil cooler, and installed new battery. Car isn't perfect, but not far from it, for its age. But it is nearly the perfect driver. It still has a few issues to be sorted out, clutch chatters badly taking off, but doesn't slip, starter bendix needs to be replaced, rear section of choke cable is hard to operate, and needs to be replaced, cigar lighter is inoperative, as are the backup lights. Runs and drives well, just drove to Corvairs at Maggie Valley meet on 10/14, about 240 mile round trip, car handled great through the mountains!. Most parts to fix the mechanical, and a couple of cosmetic problems included in the sale. Car is nearly rust free, a couple of spots need attention, but thats all! !
