62 Monza Sedan - 30,000 original miles

11.00 USD

Description

62 Corvair Monza 4-door sedan. 84hp/PG, Silver Blue w/white top, 30,XXX original miles. Oakland built car. One of the few remaining original cloth seat Monzas. I am the 4th owner and have documents going back to the original dealer purchase agreement. Sold new in Abilene ,KS. It runs and drives beautifully. Just like a Corvair must have felt like when new. This car is as original as could be possible for a 1962 model except I had new upholstery made by Clark’s Corvair Parts using the original materials and had it professionally installed (also kept all the originals). Scored a bronze award in CORSA National Concours at the 2023 St. Charles, IL convention.

I’ve owned this beautiful car since 2015. I’ll call this car unrestored. Some may disagree. It has been refurbished with all new brake system, new shocks and tires, new generator, new wiring (except dash), battery, refinished engine sheetmetal due to exploded battery, carbs rebuilt, axle seals, changed all fluids, all new tune-up parts, etc….

Right, the white top was not a factory option in 1962 but it is itemized on the original sales agreement as a dealer upgrade. Overall the paint is not perfect but looks really good at 10 feet. It is all the original paint. The trunk has been refinished but still needs a coat of splatter color.

This car has occupied an honored spot in the National Corvair Museum for nearly 5 years. It can be viewed there on our open days (see our website or facebook page for dates/times) or I can arrange to meet you there to see it. Selling due to space constraints. Price $11,000.00.

A few disclosures, there is a quarter-sized rust spots, one at the LH rocker panel ahead of the rear tire – under the trim. Patch panels are available from our used parts vendors. The speedometer is noisy. I believe some proper lubrication of the movement can easily fix that.

Contact: Paul Sergeant (Past CORSA President) paulsgt@earthlink.net. Car is currently located at the National Corvair Museum in Glen Arm, Illinois (near Springfield). The car has not been on the road for a couple of years so I would recommend transport by trailer or shipper.
